Carried on a gentle breeze,
Cherry blossoms drift down,
Spinning in fragrant clusters
The sight should be beautiful,
Something pure, untouchable
Alas, all I see in their
Pearl pink hue is the outline
Of you, hand outstretched,
Warm smile in place
The sight should be beautiful
But, it only dredges up
A bittersweet pain,
The inescapable sorrow of parting
