You do not have to accept negativity into your life. You do not have to appease or accommodate other people, especially if they have a negative impact on you and your overall well-being. Even if it’s a family member or a friend, toxic behavior is toxic behavior, and you shouldn’t have to deal with it. If a person in your life is having a negative affect on you, as in they consistently leave you feeling down, stressed, anxious, etc., then it may be necessary to spend less time with them or completely cut off contact with them. Please don’t feel guilty for doing this. You have to consider your own health and well-being, too. You have to do what you can to protect yourself from negative and toxic influences. Never feel bad for doing this.
