Poison Apple

Scarlet red, with skin crisp and tart
It shines like a ruby, sparkling in the ominous night
Scent sweet and light, but with a hint of bitterness
A fragrance so divine,
And a taste most sublime
Won’t you have a little bite
Of the poison apple, my dear?
