Apathetic, Emotionless

Photo by Kaboompics .com on Pexels.com

Apathetic, emotionless robot
Lock all the negative emotions inside,
Deep where no human will ever find them
Keep all the depressed thoughts
In your jumbled mind,
Deep within, where mortal eyes
Cannot hope to reach
Chain a padlock around your heart,
Allow every bit of life to be squeezed
From it, one drop at a time
Do it all to make others feel better,
Even though they won’t do the same
Do it all, until you can’t feel
Those pesky human emotions anymore
Apathetic, emotionless robot
Do you remember who you once were?

    1. Yes, it’s very interesting how certain robots and machines seem to be capable of showing more emotion and humanity than actual humans. Although, it probably doesn’t help that people seem to be more in tune with their devices than each other these days.
