No, You’re Not

Photo by Liza Summer on Pexels.com

So tired of hearing those two words,

“I’m sorry”

No

No, you’re not

Hollow words hurled at me

Time and Time again,

As if they mean anything,

Like they can fix this broken mess

We’ve become

Words possess infinite power,

Filled with a quietly permeating strength

But played on repetition,

Those words quickly lose their brilliant light

Quit trying to placate me with empty utterances

To make yourself feel better

Tell me, show me,

Something truly sincere

“I’m sorry,” doesn’t mean anything

To me anymore
