Haze of Green

Photo by Min An on Pexels.com
Day after day,
I stare into the vibrant leaves
Fluttering around me
Dearly, I wish
I wish I didn't connect their veins to you,
Seeing nothing but your scowling face
I wish I didn't remember your endless anger,
Gazing into the beauty those emerald ovals
So fearlessly display
But, of course,
They're green,
Like the finest, deepest of gems
So when I see those leaves
All around me,
I can't help but think of you
