Past memories linger, Scrolling by on a slideshow, Painted black and white Sitting in summer shade, Resplendent rays of sunlight Glaring down, light prevailing Over all Back in time, The carefree happiness Of lost days Those snapshots haunt me, Smiling faces mocking, Laughing at where I am now Tears stream down my face, And past pale quivering lips, My vision blurring The bittersweet images Surrounding me I want to escape From this hell Please, Let me go
