Today is Memorial Day, a somewhat somber occasion. It's a time to honor and mourn those who have died while serving in the military and protecting us citizens. These brave, courageous people sacrificed themselves in order to protect others. They fought for a cause they believed in. They're amazing and truly deserve to be honored for all they have done.
Things may be difficult right now. But, we have to keep fighting and persevering from one day to the next. We have to stay strong for our family members, friends, and other loved ones. We have to stay strong for ourselves. We have to keep fighting for the better days waiting ahead.
This poem was inspired by one of my favorite games from 2019, "Devil May Cry V." I loved just about every aspect of this game; the characters, story, gameplay, controls, etc.
