In recent months, I've realized just how much the selection of pet costumes has expanded over the years. There was a time my family could barely find any costumes for our kitties, and even when we could, there was so little to choose from. These days, most retailers have numerous costumes and accessories you can buy for your precious fur babies. I've seen sombreros, pumpkin caps, bat wings, robot costumes, vampire capes, and much more.
We recently had new neighbors move in nextdoor, and they happen to have a cat that mostly stays outside. Unsurprisingly, this particular kitty happened to get pregnant and had a litter of kittens just several weeks ago. As of late, it seems the cats have settled in our yard permanently, though. We've begun seeing the kittens wandering around on a daily basis, searching for food and excitement. The kittens are absolutely adorable and remind me of how our kitties were as tiny, floofy babies.
Happy Father's Day to all the dads, adoptive dads, father figures, and fur baby fathers!!! Whatever type of father you happen to be, you're an incredibly important part of your children's lives and the lives of those around you. You're amazing and deserve to be acknowledged for all that you do every single day, not just today. Sending love and best wishes to all the fathers out there! My family and I occasionally move the couches out to search for missing kitty toys, only to find a whole treasure trove of them. If you have cats, I think it's just guaranteed their toys will end up all over the house at some point! We've found kitty toys under basically every piece of furniture, stashed away in shoes, and even in shopping totes before!
I am 24 years old today! It's kind of hard to believe I'm at another birthday again, because the passage of time over this past year has been so wonky. That said, I'm very grateful to have made it through what was an incredibly harrowing, fearful year for many of us.
