Monday Motivation #61

Remember that it’s okay to take a break, especially with everything going on in the world right now. Social media can be very draining in particular, and sometimes, we just need time away from it. Never feel bad about taking a break from your socials or scrolling the news. At times, it’s necessary to preserve our emotional, mental, and physical health by keeping ourselves away from sensitive and/or triggering content. If we force ourselves to take in every bit of drama and news online, it will eventually end up having a negative impact on our health. So take time for yourself when you need it, stay away from social media when necessary, and only expose yourself to as much as you can personally handle.Β

  1. Social media can deplete your energy. I’ve been doing really well not bringing my phone with me all of the time. I only use it for emails and other essential apps.

    1. Yes, very true! I’ve had to step away from it many times in the past and take a break. Congratulations on using your phone and social media less! That sounds like a great way to do it. πŸ˜„

    1. That sounds like a great way to cut back on online/screen time! I’ve recently been spending less time online as well. Yeah, social media is definitely something that needs to be used in moderation, at least for me. It can very quickly become draining, exhausting, and frustrating. Plus, there’s that bit about intelligence lol 😁

      1. Moderation indeed…I read somewhere that we now have an average attention span of seven seconds which is less than that of a goldfish!

Thank God goldfish don’t have social media! lol 🐠

      2. Oh, wow! Yeah, that’s definitely a telling statistic. I’d assume people are just so used to constantly seeing new content online and on social media, their attention spans have decreased. There’s always supposed to be something new to see or watch. We’re going from one post to another so quickly, we expect to be doing that all the time. Moderation is needed even more then.

        Yes, thank goodness! Haha πŸ˜†

      3. We are receiving
        all this information
but don’t know how or why
        is was arrived at.

        Ask a young person
        how many phone numbers
        they remember
are they’ll look and say why!?
